Guys with custom kits: where did you buy your turbocharger?

Did you ebay it, or did you buy it from a reputable site?

Ive found plenty of nice looking turbo's on ebay, but usually the seller doesn't know a thing about what they're selling. I dont want to take a risk of buying a turbo I dont know everything about, but at the same time, you can get them new for about half price.

What route did you take?

On that note, I'd also be interested in knowing where the other parts came from, and how much they cost.

I bought the 'kit' off a member here, but the turbo in that kit needed a rebuild. I opted for another turbo from a friend of mine that owns his own shop.

My experiences over the last 3 weeks have left me with the advice to not risk anything. Know exactly what you're putting on the car. THere will be enough issues to hammer through in shakedown without having to worry if your turbo is a good unit or not smile.gif
