Anyone who has a 160 thermo did your heater not work as good as with the 190 degree one? The shop tried to tell me my heater doesnt work because its not getting hot enough even after I told them it quit working before i put it in? Are they right or do they not know what they are saying?
Check the Modifications Reviews on this site...there's some helpful information there. I still haven't made up my mind about it myself.

Its been *** frozen cold down here in FL (for FL) and I've had plenty of heat. Mind you, its not as hot as it mightve been with the stock thermostat, but its plenty warm thats for sure.
You live up in SC, dunno how cold it gets there, but if you're not getting enough heat I'd just say pop a 180 in it and be happy smile.gif You won't lose much doing that unless you run a jet chip.

That's exactly what my ex-mechanic told me. "you do know that you will have no heat after this" and I said I know... then he proceeded to laugh and charged me $90 for labor graemlins/omg.gif I am never going to go to that guy again!
Yes, my heater isn't as powerful as it was before but I never use my ac or heater reguardless so I guess it dosen't matter to me

My balls started to freeze when i put the 160 thermo in, so i usually drive my truck when it's cold out.

I wear hat and gloves on cold starts.
I do NOT turn on the heat until the car is warm enough to lock the torque converter.
When the car is finally somewhat warm, I'm almost at the destination but I'll use the MAX setting, it will recirculate the air from the cabin and I never use the 4'th fan setting or my engine will just get too cold. :(

I placed my 160 thermy in around August of 2001. My car has been running great ever since. I live up in the mountains where it gets very cold and I have plenty of heat. It does take a little longer for the car to warm up, but when it does I have to turn the fan all the way down and turn the heat down a little also. ;)
