View Full Version : Torque Specs on Valve Covers?

Does anyone know the torque specs on the valve covers for a 1984 2.8L HO? I need to replace them and it's such a nice day I figured I'd do it today, but I dont want to torque it too much and break the gaskets.

silvertaws6, in the haynes manual on page 2B-2 the rocker arm cover bolts need to be torqed to 96 in-lbs

Yep, the blackbird is being revived. However, it is being revived to be sold. Can't really afford to have two cars on registration/insurance right now. Unfortunately, during my spring break, I didn't have time to work on her, but hopefully by early summer, it will be up and running without the leaky valve covers.
