OK first, who attended?
I think it went well.
Basically we hung out and just bs'ed.
Burgers, fries and choclate shake were good smile.gif
We did have a hard time figuring out a name for the jersey peeps because we also had v8 owners and gtp people so we can not limit it to v6's only.
I think we are going to have to try a bit harder to get more people at these things. I know it is very hard, jeez I work nights so I'm a pain. I'm limited to sundays and mondays. I think as the weather gets better we will have bigger turn outs. Also we should try and figure out various things to do. Food, track, car shows or any other suggestions. Yes I'm a car nut but doing car related things all the time can become a bit boring for some people. A coworker went out somewhere to a go kart track last night. He told me it was somewhere south of me. I asked for all the info (location, cost etc.) He said 30 mph
I really would like to hit some of the larger car shows this year and it would be really great if we could get a decent amount of v6's at these things. I'll pull in on skinnies and slicks :D just so some of these old timers and ricers know these v6's can haul *** !!!!
I'll drive down to the shore or where ever for a car show.
I think next time I'll try and send out a mass e mail to everyone to see who can and cannot make it.
Hey, I got one more question for all.
Where are you located?
I figure we all know the garden state parkway or the new jersey turnpike right?
I'm just off exit 168 on the parkway or 18 on the turnpike, and you?
I'd like to see this come together for something
Hell, even if we have smaller gathering here and there.
OK, let me know what you all think
Good to see you all as always

i was there.

i think we are over complicating things by making our club too big in it's infancy. i think we should start with baby steps. here's a few facts to consider:
we are starting this club from FV6.com/CV6.com there's a few NJ area clubs dominated by V8's and none for or by V6's there's a lot of events dominated by V8's and the V6 events are just starting to come on

here's my 2 cents based on above:
it should be a V6 club it should be a V6 club it should be a V6 club

our V6 club can be aligned with bigger clubs with V8's or 4's or whatever. i have no problems with V8 owners being part of our club if they want to be but there won't be a lot of V8 interest or support in organizing and participating in V6 events. as for GTP's, they're V6's aren't they?

i'm up for small gatherings, carshows and other events. Shirl mentioned one in Wildwood in May. i think it was called "Wildwood for the Boardwalk Nationals". i'm also up for supporting our members with their other endeavors like watching Chris (Dre96Firebird) pitch a perfect game for NJIT during their regular games. :D maybe we could hit a bowling alley or something, too.

as always, i would also like to hear from other NJ peeps. there's a silent majority out there.

99% of Tri State GM Club are V6 cars. I have a Grand Prix Chapter that contains 40 of them and a Beretta Club that contains another 20.

I made an offer of letting you create a chapter under TSGM and still keep your roots here on V6.com, this would include webspace for your club, but I have yet to hear from anyone.

I was there! James, don't you mean the burger IN the chocolate shake was good ;) .

I have to disagree with you Bob, we need to make this club big, and now's a good time to do it. It seems hard to get all of us down to the meetings and we need bodies tongue.gif ... err members. As you noticed, half of the people at the last meeting were V8 guys. I think it would be good to gear the club for general GM performance. One of the biggest complaints that I (and others) have had were the lack of V8 support for the V6's. By combining the two together and keeping a good % V6 membership, I think it will open the eyes of the doubters and help bridge the gap. I think we should choose a neutral name (that way we can do stickers and noone will mind putting them on their cars), but stick mostly to V6 topics. Eh, Just my $0.02 on the issue.

I agree with everyone to do things that aren't necessarily car related. Food good, pool good, bowling good, go karting good (I know a place in Washington NJ that will rent to parties if we could get a lot going), car shows good, track good, even get togethers to play tag football or baseball or something (just for fun) good.

Location: Branchburg, NJ - between Somerville and Flemington.

If you're going to make the club open to that many people, you might as well go with Tonys idea of starting a chapter under Tri State GM Club. Call it F-Bodies so that V8 and V6'ers can join. Oh wait.. But you wanted more car types to be able to join.. Uhh..
Call it "GM'ers with 6's or 8's"..
Oh yeah.. The organizer came with a Mercedes..
Uhh..
How about "If you own a car, join our club" club..
Pfft
Whatever..

I was there.. Left early..
