There is an atuocrsoong event on Aprol 14th, in Palm Bay(east coast) Its about a 45min. drive from Orlando. Its through the Martin sports car club. There website is very outdated but here it is anyways www.martinsportscarclub.com. (http://www.martinsportscarclub.com.)

Its a blast, I did horrible last time, i jsut got there newsletter in the mail. I came dead last in Novice(was in first in the first round) But the other 2 times i was off course, Second I missed one gate(would have been first for novice with that time, if I wasn't off course) The last run I spun out and did like 2 360s, lots of fun, but killed my time. I thought I was off course but I guess I was not.

Same hear, I have dreams of dropping a v8 nto my car now, and dropping my 3.4L into an 80s Rx7. smile.gif

But I think no mater how your car is its fun. there were guys with pickup trucks last month, and where else do you get to see a 2002 Z06 going full throttle, or a super charged M5, or a couple NSXs?

3.4l in 80's RX7 that would be tight. Those lil 1.3's can move. Imagine with a 3.4. Sweet

I am almost a absolute and same with a guy I know with a 383 storker 3rd gen.

Generally there are a few others z28s, but not many.

Lots of exotics usually its fun watch, and you can watch FREE! but $25 to run if you are not a memeber.

btw its rain or shine usually, I went once where the first 2 runs were dry and the last run it poured, now that was alot of fun, its great for us boys on street tires, vs. the guys with slicks smile.gif

how hard is it to AutoX ????? Do you need a helmet? Other cars on the track @ the same time???

I wouldnt want some idiot slamming into me b/c he spun out.

nope its only one car at a time, well sometimes 2, but the other guy si no where near you, he is almost finished when you start, if that even. yes you need a helmet, but they have 2 huge bins, that you trade in your licese to "rent" it.

there are 3 runs, during one of the runs you have to do course work(sit at a corner, with 2 other peopel and report/fix a knocked over cone).

Its, hard to do well but to actually do it is a cinch, there are going to be some people that will jsut blow you away, but they put cars into classes to keep it somewhat fair. WE will be in G-stock(car has nothng done to it not even a CAI), G-prepared which is prettymuch anyhting but internal motor. or G-race which is you can do anything to your car. You will be surprised how peopel fair. But even if yu come in dead last its fun. I only had one decent run last time i went and came in close to last or last(I was off course, and spun out). My girlfrined went awhile back in her dead stock cavalier, and didn't even really push her car hard, and her knowledge of cars is gas=go, brake=stop. make sure your battery si secure, and doesn't flo around much, they check that(my battery lip is broken and I have to ghetto rig it when I go).

try it its loads of fun, problem is oyu have to get there at buttcrack of dawn, and after the 3 runs, alot of people leave, buttheystill do funruns for a little bit. you pay a dollar and you can run the course again(practice).

I am not sure with my stiffened up suspension and crap tires how i will fair but its all fun. smile.gif Worth it to see the blue Z06 vetter running smile.gif

hey there was a v6 there, was in G-stock, I didn't get to talk to him, I was jsut wondering if he was form here, and what times he pulled?

my new suspension stuff is like night and day, I think i am actually oging ot hold of on tires for a little bit longer, losing the body roll, and increase in oversteer has SEVERELY fixed alot of my problems, i know I have more I can do to push the car, afterall only had the new suspension on for a week. my best was a 58.XXX, but I knicked a cone, so a 61.XX(they have 3 sec penalties for cones) My first run i screwed up on the slalom part, and drilled a cone all hte way up under my rim, and another time I entered the slalom wrong so exited on the wrong side, slowing me down, third run was ok, but still had lots of errors.

It was fun I came in 2nd in my class but got spanked by the guy in first(modded Impreza). Lots of fun, only problem with autocrossing is its hardto practince, not like drag racing.
