I am sooo pissed!! This whole time I though my exhaust sounded fine, almost good; until my friend and I were messing around with his camera.

You may have to copy and paste. And I think there is a limit of 5mb/3hrs for the site, if anyone knows of a better way to host vids, let me know.

So I want to upgrade to a 3" Dynomax Super Turbo catback, catco cat, new headers, and a cut out. Anyone have any suggestions on where to get everything? Thanks.

Don't go by how it sounds on tape...have you heard it from the outside (ie get your friend to drive away while you're standing outside)??

no, not a high rpm drive by. just a launch. I think I'll do that soon. I still want to get a 3" catback though

Yeah taping never sounds good to me either. I heard my car drive off when I took it for service and I told the guy driven it to go as fast as he could in the lot =) sounded great. Much better than on tape. - + hey where are u at, Not many southern cali ppl here.

You'll be even more mad when you hear what the dynomax sounds like. I use to have a 94 3.4 liter with a flowmaster, my friend had the same but with a dynomax and mine sounded much better, he ended up switching. Stay with the Flowmaster. Dynomax sounds like a Honda to me. You guys wont be able to match a V8 sound, but Flowmaster takes you closest to it.

I found that our 3.8L has an identity crisis. No matter what muffler you put on it doesn't know how many cylinders it has. WTF do I mean by this! tongue.gif Well it sounds "like" a V8 down low and "like" an I4 up top. Both mufflers are great, I had both the Flowmaster and the Dynomax. Personally I like the Flows better. If you want a more classy/uniformed sound tho go with Dynomax.

Beleive me you won't be happy with the dynomax, both me and my friend had a dynomax, well I still do for a while. My friends been through a dynomax, a ravin, and now he's going to the flowmaster american thunder, which from what I heard of sounds really good. I'd stick with your 80 and get the 3in all the way back with a nice little cutout on it. As for the v6 identity crisis. The chainsaw like noise up top is just the nature of it. There are ways to get around it though.

I have to agree with the last three posts. I recommend a used-already broken in flowmaster muffler, 3" highlfow cat and 2.75-3" I pipe. When I hit the track, if my 1/4 times gets worst with the flowmaster, then I might switch AGAIN. Until then, I'm sticking with it.

Hmmm, yea, I think I'll stay with the flows, just get some 3" pipes.

As for Takumi Fujiwara, Sac is Nor-Cal smile.gif

EDIT: The links are on a really crappy server, anyone know of a better server to host?

thanks!

I try to be as unbiased as I can. Also for another good definition of our motor...a 3.4 owner during a bashing contest called it a "pissed off" chainsaw! graemlins/rofl.gif

I've got a flowmaster exhaust on my car with a 2.75" pipe and it sounds pretty mean down low, especially at startup on a cold night! Up top it doesn't sound like a civic with a fart can but it just loses some of that mean sound. Not totally just a little.
