can somebody give me instructions on how to do the home depot mod on the air silencer? also what are the advantages of this.

I'll answer the second part:

Pros:
1)A more free-flowing intake for more power
2)Better throttle response
3)Can clean up the engine bay

rip out the air silencer, cut yourself a 5-6" piece of 3.5 or 4" diameter PVC pipe, stick it between the two hoses from the airbox and throttle body, clamp in place, start car, and go have fun! graemlins/burnout.gif

If you plan on getting a tb spacer, the whisper lid wouldn't be a bad idea. As badly as i hated to, I just got one after the spacer install because moving the tb forward kind of "pinched" the rubber bellow I had in there.

If you are cheap like me though you wont be dissapointed with the HD mod. You will deffinately notice a change in you engine noise, its a good sound though :D and maybe some throttle response. Its not a huge gain but its cheap.
