Thanks that is some useful info.
Just a question, what would the interest be in getting together and going to a road course?

A few of my friends going to auto crossing events atleast once a month. I think they race at the police training site in OKC. I'll get some more info if you guys are interested.
There is also a track about 30min from me called Hallet. It's a 1.8 mile track and looks like it would be a blast to run around it. Only reason I haven't is because it's $75 to race.

I've been wanting to run somewhere besides TV, just to see the difference.
The strip in Tulsa in asphalt, thunder valley is concrete, anyone know the differences in traction that would make?

Camarorulz, i see you moved ;)
i think we could do a tulsa run sometime to see the different. personally i think asfault would be better cause it softer and gets hot and sticky.

I'm game for anything because my car hooks on the street better than at TV. smile.gif

it seems like from what i heard from the cofba meeting, we might be able to piggy back off some other club and do some AutoX here....no racing though

Also, on the list it says ardmore is just 1000ft. They do 1/8 or 1/4 for street cars, just not enough room for the big boys to stop.

I'd say high 15's maybe 16's. At Tulsa's track anyways. I've seen some v6's run 17's out there....
Where is Thunder Valley at? I'd like to try that track out since everytime I've run at Tulsa, me or a freind, we pull ****ty times.
I'd like to try out the crete track anyways. Is it down by OKC?
I also dont like how at the Midnight drags at Tulsa they dont give time slips. What Bull Sh*t... Whats the point of going to the track if you cant get a time slip? If I want to race someone I'll do it on the street. Not pay $15 to do it on a strip. I wont go back to midnights until they change that, I'll stick with test and tune nights.

TV is south of Norman in Noble. It isn't too far from OU. Usually VERY busy, that's why I like Ardmore better.
Lots of people say TV is bad for traction. I'm not so sure..most of the people complaining hookup just peachy...while some of us have REAL traction problems graemlins/twak.gif

I'm not a fan of AutoX racing. I'll stay to the strip. I'll let you guys know if I head down there. I'll bring a freind or two with their 6's.

As far as the local tulsa track, I'm not sure about it. There is one in tulsa.
TV and Ardmore are $15 to run.
When you go, be sure to take a helmet (esp. if T top car). They may not make you wear one, but you should anyways. You have to sign a release and they will check out your car (to make sure it isn't dangerous).
When you get to the tree, basically stall the car up and either let off the brake if auto or let off the clutch and break if manual when the last amber light comes on. You will have to time it right to not red light (jump the light) but this is usually the best way to get a good reaction time.
Run it down the quarter, and repeat as you wish. I usually let my car cool off for a little while between runs.

Ardmore has lights now. They are finishing the setup of the lights, but will be ready by the end of the summer. I have talked to the track owner, and they are still deciding on the times they will be open.
