  • LIM Gasket

    Time to replace again.

Original factory GM gasket lasted 204,000 miles, second dealer installed gasket (can only assume it was GM part) lasted 56,000 miles.

Suggestions for brand to get this time?

I would go with the alm. Intake gaskets from zzp and just use felpro for the lower. Also I can't remember does the tensioner need to come off when you do the lower? If it does do the alm. coolant elbow too.

This should eliminate the plastic failure.

For the upper I would just go with the normal felpro part.

I would also agree with the aluminum elbows as well.

I've got the Felpro version of the alum LIM gasket and happy with it, MS98014T. I do have pitting on the LIM surfaces, so on install i used a razor blade and skimmed black rtv over the pits to fill them in.

Well that's NOT where the leak is after all.

It's the heater hose! Time for V6FixIt.com

Thats good news. On those heater hoses put some sealant around the top of them and let them dry, it will hold them in place alot better. I think I used some gray intake gasket sealer. When I installed them without it I had one blow out when I floored it one day and lost alot of coolant I think it had to be the pressure side that popped off.

Did you install factory, or V6FixIt.com hose kit?
