I would like to get a nice stainless steel exhaust? Because the college ill be going to is on the coast. And i dont want mine to rust and look like crap. I have been looking at ATR and Summit racing for nice LT1 exhaust but their all like 459 dollars and that alot of money. Or is that just what they cost and im just being cheap? BTW its true that i have to use LT1s exhaust right? Someone told me that. So i would just like to know that for sure. Thanks for the replys.

Go with the Borla Catback. With minor adjustments, this works really well with the v6's, and it has the adjustable plates. Try to find a used one, that would be your best bet. I got mine off a garage sale for 400. Sounds great, and the tips looks awesome.

my stock exhaust is/was 100% stainless steel.

then I had them cutoff the muffler and weld on a flowmaster with tips. All the piping used was galvanized steel and the muffler is galvanized or stainless Im not sure.

If you want a stainless exhaust, the stock one is already that way. I live on the coast, and I haven't had a rust issue with mine.

Rksport sells a polished stainless steel 3" cat-back for $389. It's the best price for a nice looking polished stainless steel cat-back, plus no tips necessary. Eventhough it says for V8's, any local muffler shop should be able to install it, they just might have to weld different hangers, but's that's no biggie.

Of a course B&B is still my favorite of obivous reasons.

Cool

If you're on a really tight budget then try to find someone selling the stock SS cat-back.It is mandrel bent and comes stainless steel. The one I got was from a '96 and it is 2.75" I am not sure what the sizes are for other years.I paid $40 for the SS muffler and $25 for the I-pipe.Good luck.

My exhaust tips have rust in them and i just got them put on a couple months ago. I got a flowmaster exhaust with 3.5" dual tips, chrome. They have rust on the interior on the bottom portion of the pipe. Why is this happening? Is there someway to fix it?

saturn2187.. hey another from Louisiana.. I'm now in north La but am from alexandria.. I see you are in Sleezville.. BTW nice maro.. oah and in response to your question, you shoulda gotten stainless tips.. no rust but you can take the chrome ones,, clean the rust off and put a coat of wax on them.. that will help keep the moisture off of them but regular chrome tips will rust after a while..

Flowmasters are technically aluminized steel, not galvanized.

By the way... are you sure the stock exhaust is stainless? Looks more like aluminized or galvanized to me.
