    http://forum.camarov6.com/announcement.php?f=19&a=4

ive read this, im just curious as to why. i fully support this site and its purpose and i am not complaining. i just dont know why PM's, sigs, etc are not allowed to a non-supporting member. I understand it takes more bandwidth and server space, but is that the only primary reason? Random example.. many people aren't here long or only have specific question would like to talk to a certain member via PM and they see it as they have to pay 10 dollars to be able to PM somebody. I understand that they can just email that person, but dont misunderstand me.. I would also encourage perks for supporting members, but simple things like sigs and PM's should be standard as they are almost every other forum I am on. Again, mods, don't take this the wrong way. I love camarov6.com and have definately gotten my "$10 worth" here. I am just trying to respectully question authority without trying to make an arguement.

haha. yea definately not what im going for here in this thread. however, i would like it if the moderators or whomever is going to respond to this could do it VIA A POST and not by locking this up and emailing me. i think everyone should be allowed to view this.

Re: question about supporting member status

Isn't it because this site doesn't have sponsors like the other sites? My understanding is that the sponsors pay for the site so the supporting $10 fee doesn't have to. With that though you can't post links to vendors other than that of who sponsors the site.

However I still think it would be nice to at least have pms and signatures for even the non supporting members. If bandwidth is a problem, make it only for those over x amount of posts, that way you aren't using bandwidth to save a guys sig that never comes on anymore.

I guess the way I look at is, in my short time here I have received far more than $10.00 worth of info. And I think most of us could afford it if they wanted.

i agree. but PM's, sigs, etc are forum basics. they should be avaliable to everyrone.

im just looking for a good explination, not necessarily a change. however, that would be quite awesome.

they needed a way to fund the site to pay the bills that it costs to run it. We no longer have the sponsors that would pay it before, instead the site went with supporting members to pay for the site upkeep. So to reward those who support they gave those features.

that is completely reasonable. but is there no other way to award them besides giving them forum standard options? rewarding us should not include taking small things like PMs and sigs etc away from other board members
