    Anybody know if a T-5 trans. from a 95 Camaro would work in a 1999 Mustang?

      I know they both use the t-5 but I think the splines and they way it bolts on to the rear bell housing are different.

        they are not going to be the same transmission at all, one is a ford and one is a gm, they are made by different companies intended to fit on different cars, it wont work

            The Mustang T5's and T56's are made by Tremec while Camaro's are made by Borg Warner... apples and oranges...

              I though the t-5's in the 97+ f-bodies were made by tremec.

                Nope, Borg-Warner. I should know. I've read the lettering on my tranny all 5 times I've pulled it.

                    That's is correct. All Mustang and F-Body T-5 transmissions were supplied by Tremec (formerly Borg-Warner).

                    You can see the specs for your T-5 at the link below. Just match up the part number with the one on your tranny.

                    The T-5's for a 4th gen V6 car are rated at 230 ft. lbs. max. The T-5's for the Mustang GT are rated at 300 ft. lbs. max. I'm not sure about the 6 cylinder Stangs.
